One does not just step into those roomier seats and act the way he/she would in normal circumstances. There is a "calling" to be seated in the upper part of the airplane that mandates certain behaviors. Those that acquire those coveted seats must rise to the occasion or be left waiting for the bathroom in thirty minutes. Acting disinterested conveys a non-caring. It's like reading the newspaper and thinking to yourself, "Oh, those people are at it again" and continuing on to the next story or dismissing a comment about someone because it was expected that he/she would do that. Disinterested people have more important things to consider and ponder like how they're feeling at any given moment and why something they just asked for hasn't been done yet. After all, your butt is now seated upon one of the largest seats of the plane and in its most elitist spot. All the steerage folks (carrying everything they own to avoid the baggage cost) slowly sulk past you as they board. They try to look disinterested because they do not have what you are now enjoying. However, their disinterest is only a camouflage-of-envy for what you are now enjoying. It is important for us "business class folks" to look very important during this boarding period of "the others." (After all, if they didn't enter the plane, you could have left earlier.) Your private bathroom depends on it. The flight attendant clearly announces, as the plane lifts off, that the front bathroom is not for steerage folks. Yet there is always that weary bladder older gentlemen who ventures into the upper zone.
